Coll is a low-lying Inner Hebridean island with a gentle but rugged landscape studded with sandy beaches. Tiree, a mile away, records the highest sunshine hours on the West Coast of Scotland, Coll enjoys a similar climate.
The Island is a walkers paradise with a variety of terrain; indeed, many areas of the of the island have been designated Sites of Special Scientific Interests (SSSIs). The RSPB have a large reserve here too, concentrating on protecting that very rare bird, the corncrake.
